Maximo Park Boat Ramp Improvements & LID Demonstration Project

LWES was retained by the City of St Petersburg to design improvements for Maximo Park to include the design of

  • (7) Boat Ramps with Floating Docks
  • Parking Improvements
  • Water and Sewer Utilities Service
  • Access Road Improvements and
  • A Wetland Impact and Mitigation Plan

The project also included a Phase I assessment of cultural resources and incorporated stormwater treatment with low impact development (LID) management plans such as parking design on pervious pavements and stormwater management bioretention cells.

LWES evaluated soil conditions for media filtration and design of a control system for proper water quality treatment prior to discharging into Boca Ciega Bay.

Permitting was conducted through the Southwest Florida Water Management District, US Army Corps of Engineers, and Pinellas County Water and Navigation Control Authority. Reviews for permitting were also conducted by the Department of Community Affairs, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and NOAA National Marine and Fisheries Service. LWES was also retained for construction engineering and inspection services, conducted site visits, shop drawing reviews, responded to requests for additional information and final certification.
