7th St N & 50th Ave N & Vicinity Stormwater and Roadway Improvements

St. Petersburg, FL

The intent of the project was to address the flooding conditions and improve roadway safety along 50th Avenue N and 7th Street N, as well as to provide water quality improvement initiatives for surface runoff discharging into 54th Avenue Canal.

The project included 0.73 miles of total roadway reconstruction and drainage improvements to address road, safety, and water quality concerns. A multimodal transportation network to improve safety for pedestrians and bikes. LID treatment basins were designed for water quality improvement.

An evaluation of sea level rise and impacts of changing climatic conditions on the proposed improvements for the year 2070 were also analyzed for this project and it was designed to incorporate sustainability elements meeting ENVISION Silver Level Certification.
